Corey Scurlock, MD, MBA, was recently named Medical Director, WMCHealth eHealth Center, a telemedicine program.
Dr. Scurlock joins WMCHealth following four years at Advanced ICU Care, where he served as the National Medical Director, leading a team of 55 physicians and providers across three Tele-ICU monitoring centers. Prior to this, Dr. Scurlock was an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology & Cardiothoracic Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center, serving as Director of Critical Care for the Department of Anesthesiology, as well as the Director of the Cardiothoracic Surgical ICU and Cardiac Progressive Care Unit.
Dr. Scurlock received his medical degree from the University of Texas-Houston Medical School, earned an MBA from Cornell University and received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Texas A&M University graduating Magna Cum Laude. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine, where he was also named Chief Resident, and his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Harvard Medical School - Massachusetts General Hospital. He is the author of over 35 peer-review publications including articles in The New England Journal of Medicine as well as Circulation. He was recently named editor for Critical Care Clinics with a special edition on telemedicine in the ICU. Dr. Scurlock serves on national committees both in anesthesia and critical care.
