Patients experiencing non-emergency heart issues can now receive cardiology care more quickly and conveniently than ever before, thanks to the Heart and Vascular Institute at Westchester Medical Center’s new Same-Day Cardiology Program.
Patients can access experienced cardiology care on a same-day basis or within 24 hours. This program is only for new patients. Established cardiology patients can call their provider’s office. You may request a same-day heart appointment for any reason, including personal convenience.
For acute cardiac issues requiring emergency care, call 911 immediately.
If you need immediate but non-emergent heart care, please call our Same-Day Cardiology Program at 914.909.6917 between 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. (After-hours callers may leave a voicemail request.)
Our program’s dedicated cardiology advanced practitioner will answer your call during business hours and determine your eligibility for a same-day appointment. Once admitted to our easy-to-access facility at the Ambulatory Care Pavilion, you will be seen by a cardiologist from the Heart and Vascular Institute.
What to Expect
- Patients who request an initial appointment between 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. will be seen same-day.
- Patients who request an appointment between 2 - 5 p.m. will be seen within 24 hours with the exception of Friday afternoon requests.
Services
Our same-day cardiology services include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Consultation with a cardiologist
- Electrocardiogram (ECG)
- Blood pressure measurement
- Blood draw for lab analysis (If clinically indicated)
- Echocardiogram (If clinically indicated)
Other required follow-up clinical testing, such as stress tests or cardiac catheterization, will be conveniently scheduled for a later date.
