The Westchester Medical Center Cancer Center

Precise, Advanced, Compassionate Care When It’s Needed Most

The Westchester Medical Center Cancer Center provides exceptional care, including diagnoses and treatments, conveniently close to home at the flagship of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). We prioritize compassion and dignity for each patient. For appointments, information and referrals, please call 914.246.6600 or click the Contact Us tab to view a phone directory of our cancer-related services.

The Cancer Center is the Hudson Valley’s top resource for personalized care of all cancers. Experienced physicians, surgeons, scientists and technicians embrace sophisticated technologies to provide a comprehensive “one-stop” approach that maximizes outcomes for patients while minimizing side effects. Indeed, the Center’s generations of trusted care includes establishment of the region's first full-service Radiation Medicine program 20 years ago, and the oldest, most active bone-marrow transplant program in the region.

Comprehensive Cancer Care

The Cancer Center and pediatric cancer services at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, also a WMCHealth member, break ground with the latest specialty services, including precise, accurate screenings to detect cancer; preventive care; advanced imaging; radiation therapies; minimally invasive and interventional surgical procedures; clinical trials; bone marrow/stem cell transplant; cord-blood transplantation; supportive services; navigation of care; pain management; and survivorship.

Specifically, these therapies, all in a quality-driven, patient-centered environment, include care of:

  • Breast and Gynecologic Oncology: Breast and all types of gynecologic cancer.
  • Thoracic Oncology: Cancer of the lungs and chest region.
  • Gastrointestinal Oncology: Cancer of the digestive system, including the esophagus, gall bladder, biliary tract, liver, pancreas, stomach, small intestine, bowel (large intestine, colon and rectum) and anus.
  • Hematologic Malignancy and Transplant: Cancer that originates in blood-forming tissue such as bone marrow or the immune system. This includes leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes.
  • Neuro-Oncology: Cancer of the brain and spinal cord.
  • Pediatric Oncology: The world-renowned Children and Adolescent Cancer and Blood Diseases Center provides breakthrough personalized therapies through pioneering research.
  • Head and Neck Cancer.
  • Urologic Cancer: Cancer of the prostate, bladder and kidney, as well as testicular cancer.
  • Sarcoma: Cancer of connective tissue such as bones, muscles and tendons.

Collaborative, Personalized Cancer Care

Just as importantly, patients and their families benefit from uniquely customized treatment plans and nuanced, plain-talk explanations from initial consultation through treatment and every step of aftercare. We consider this personal touch essential: Cancer Center team members collaborate to care for every patient the way they would care for their own families.

Each aspect of care provided by the Cancer Center is individually accredited, ensuring the highest standard of care. Board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians, surgeons, scientists, nurses and technicians deliver trusted, comprehensive and coordinated oncology services. Westchester Medical Center earned a full three-year Accreditation as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Westchester Medical Center also is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancers (NAPBC), the American College of Radiology, the American College of Radiology Lung Cancer Screening Center and the American College of Radiation Oncology.
