Anchors Aweigh! Young Sailors from Children’s Hospital to Enjoy Day on Long Island Sound During Sail4Kids Event

Contact: Andy LaGuardia, (914) 493-6532; laguardiaa@wcmc.com A day on the water is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend a summer afternoon and thanks to members of the American Yacht Club in Rye, young patients treated at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center will spend a relaxing and fun-filled day on Long Island Sound during the Sail4Kids "Make a Memory" Cruise Sunday, July 19. The event is a positive and educational distraction for children and families challenged with complex medical issues. This year marks the fifth voyage of the Sail4Kids Cruise. As in previous years, members of the American Yacht Club will donate their vessels and sailing skills for the day and play host to a child and his or her family. In 2008, a fleet of more than 20 boats hosted more than 20 families. The Sail4Kids "Make a Memory" Cruise is an ideal photo, video and interview opportunity for a summer Sunday.
